Spring Into Reading Hangout On Air Series


We’re excited to announce that in honor of National Reading Month we’re hosting a LIVE Google Hangout On Air on Friday, March 1st at at 4:00 EST.  We’d love for you to come join us for this event!  It’s called Spring Into Reading : Read Across America! We’ll be sharing some Dr. Seuss inspired ideas to bring his imagination and love of rhyming words into your own home! 
Here’s the best part we’ve asked some of our favorite kid bloggers from the Kid Blogger Network to join us all month long to share their tips for reading with children.  They are sharing their creativity and knowledge of reading activities, crafts and games.  

Spring Into Reading Hangout On Air Series

Here are some of the things you will see in this On Air Reading Series:  Dr. Seuss Activities for Read Across America, World Read Aloud Day, World Book Day, Multicultural books, Challenging Advanced Readers, Movement with Books, Playful Storytelling, Early Chapter Books, Reading with Babies, Reluctant Readers, Struggling Readers, and Author Interviews. As the Videos are posted we will link them here on this page for a great reading resource for you!

You can watch the hangouts LIVE on Google+, YouTube, or straight from this page.

We’ll update this Landing Page with the videos before the events when possible. We’re all busy Moms and Teachers so we wanted you to know you can view the hangouts here after the event too! Follow the hashtag #readwithkbn on Google+ to keep up with the latest. You can RSVP to the hangout events to get reminders when they are going start {or to remind you to watch them later}.

Spring Into Reading: Read Across America

Spring Into Reading: World Read Aloud Day
We’ll be celebrating World Read Aloud Day!   Trisha Stanley (Inspiration Laboratories) will be chatting with author Sue Fliess. RSVP HERE

Spring Into Reading: Challenging the Advanced Reader

Spring into Reading: Children’s Book and Stories As Parenting Tools

Join Maya Basinir (Meme Tales),  Kara Fleck (Simple Kids), Rana DiOrio (Litttle Pickle Press) as they talk about how children’s books and stories have helped them with parenting their kids

Spring Into Reading: Movement with Books

Join Kristina Buskirk (Toddler Approved), Megan Sheakoski (Coffee Cups and Crayons), and Lorie (Reading Confetti) as they share book-inspired ACTIVE activities that get kids moving and learning.  
Spring Into Reading: Playful Storytelling

Join Bethany Winston (No Twiddle Twaddle) and Carolyn Elbert (The Pleasantest Thing) as they talk about reading with babies. It’s so important and lots of fun!  

Spring Into Reading: Reluctant Readers 
Join Kim Vij (The Educators’ Spin On It), Melissa Taylor (Imagination Soup), and Becky (This Reading Mama) as they talk about strategies for helping reluctant readers and struggling readers.

Spring Into Reading: Conclusion and Giveaway 
Join Kim Vij and Trisha Stanley with a few guests.  We’ll be hosting Giveaways of Books  from Scholastic, Chronicle Books, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Children’s Book and Melissa Taylor Book Love!

    Vivian and I are having a Hangout, Tuesday, March 5th at 2:00 CST on "Positive Ways Educators Can Use their Influence." This will cover more play and recess time in schools and ways educators can connect and empower parents. #springintoeducation. Looks like a great lineup above!
