Tips for Summer Safety Protecting Kids from Insects and the Sun

This guest post was written by KidzStuff
A mother’s number one job is to look out for her kids. So if a mom has a chance to protect her babies you better believe she will do whatever it takes! Infants are more susceptible to infections and diseases because their immune system has not yet been fully developed. Most mothers are aware of the fact and try to keep their children away from germs, bugs, and the sun. But wouldn’t it be nice to take your baby to a park on a beautiful day and enjoy a picnic without worrying?

Protecting Kids from Insects Bites

KidzStuff has created an Insect Shield® to protect infants from insect-borne diseases. This way you can sit with your child at the park and not worry about checking for crawling bugs every minute. The way this works is simple. The insect repelling product is in the fabric of the romper, which will make it last longer and have no affect on the child’s skin. This romper gives every mother the gift of worry-free travel.
Jefry Biehler, the Medical Director for Utilization and Quality at Miami Children’s Hospital and Chair of the Department of Pediatrics at Florida International University shares, “At the very least, insect bites can cause discomfort, irritation, infection and in some cases an allergic reaction. For parents traveling with infants at home or abroad, the Insect Shield® Romper is a smart way to increase your baby’s protection.”

Protecting Kids from UV Rays

In addition to the Insect Shield® the doctors at Miami Children’s Hospital  have also come up with a convenient way to shield children from the danger of UV rays in the sun. The Sun Blocker™ Romper is designed to shield these harmful rays from infant’s sensitive skin while allowing them to enjoy the warmth of a sunny day.
Furthermore, the lightweight material this romper is made from is chemical and lotion Dr. Ana Duarte, the director of Dermatology at Miami Children’s Hospital and president of the Children’s Skin Center, urges parents to start taking care of their children’s skin as soon as possible. She states, “Just one blistering sunburn during childhood can more than double your adult risk of melanoma, which is a deadly form of skin cancer, so it’s critical that parents get into the habit of practicing sun smart behaviors for their children as early as possible.” The Sun Blocker™ Romper is an excellent way for parents to enjoy a day in the park with their children in worry-free environment.

From sunburns to insect bites, KidzStuff’s™ innovative wellness products are designed to solve everyday common problems. Born at Miami Children’s Hospital, KidzStuff™ leverages more than 60 years of medical experience to develop products for children and their parents. An exciting new brand that is changing the way parents care for their children.
