Money Saving Teacher Gift: Fall in Love with Learning FREE PRINTABLE

It’s a messy world out there™ but Sparkle® can help with genius tips to save money and time!  Take a moment this week to let your kids get even messier in order to brighten their teachers lives.

Here at the Educators’ Spin On It, we believe that teachers are a vital part to our children’s lives and try to take every opportunity to thank them, appreciate them, and show them we value their hard work.

This easy to assemble, money saving teacher gift will be the perfect message of gratitude.  It’s little gifties like these that help your teacher fall in love with you!

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Georgia Pacific. The opinions and text are all mine.

As a parent, I’m always looking for ways to save money, without a ton of extra added effort, time, and energy.  I have three kids, who combined have a total of 9 teachers, not even including the music, art, PE, library, and computer lab teacher. Any small “teacher appreciation gift” adds up in cost.

“Saving money does not have to come at the “expense” of spending more time, or effort.”

This teacher gift is a budget friendly way to let your kids get MESSY and bring something beautiful in to school to show their teacher how much they are appreciated. Plus – it is SUPER EASY to assemble and I may be biased, but it really is a great teacher gift. I know I would like to receive one!

Mumms

1. BUY THE MUMMS and a bag of potting soil if needed.
Stop by your local garden center.  Select a small container of mumms – mine were $1.00 each. Look for one that has healthy green leaves (no browning) and lots of buds.  The ones bursting with flowers may look pretty now but will quickly fade away. The plants with lots of buds will provide a few more days of color for the special teacher in your life. I had 9 plants to transplant and needed some soil too.

2.  FIND A POT, BASKET, BOX

We found several pots at a thrift store for a quarter. You can use baskets or containers too. Shop your house for items you are not using and get creative. Each pot does not need to look the same! If you do not have anything around the house, buy an inexpensive pot and let your child paint it.

3.  PLANT THE MUMMS

Put the plant into the pot or container, add some soil. Tuck it in gently making sure the dirt goes around the edges. Water the plant and wipe the outside of the pot clean.

4. MAKE THE CARD

Print the tag,”Thanks for helping me fall in love with learning! From, ” We put it on cardstock, but any paper you have on hand will work.  Let your child fill in their name at the bottom, Even toddlers can “write” their name with scribbles. Just write it in grown-up writing next to theirs so the teacher knows who it is from. Tape it on or tuck it into the flowers. No printer – no problem, just write the words and let your child draw the picture!

Hey – it’s a messy world – roll with what you have and make it your own. Homemade means a LOT to many people.

5. OPTIONAL ADDITIONS

You can add a bow or even a gift card to a local coffee shop.

Total cost for each gift (for me) was under $2.00.

Your price will vary depending on the flowers and containers you find.

Teacher gift, pumpkin bread and free printable Thank you card

AND… Just because “It’s a messy world out there™,” if you happened to have a child (like mine did) that comes homes and announces a “new student teacher” the night before you are sending in fall gifts, run to the store and pick up a quick bread, pop a bow on it and add a tag.

Pumpkin is always a great flavor for fall and the student teacher has the chance to receive one of their first “teacher gifts!”

I promise, they get really excited about it!
