Tips for Making Christmas Memories Together with your Family

Christmas has snuck up on me this year.  I think having Thanksgiving later and my daughter’s birthday around that same time, I was so focused on it that when I looked at the calendar I realized that I less than two weeks until Christmas.  Yikes! I have presents to buy, holiday parties to attend, Christmas cards to mail my mental list of things to do is getting fuller and fuller.

I caught myself for a moment and realized that Christmas is really about the memories that you’re making with your kids.  It’s taken the time to slow down and really enjoy the moments of Christmas Magic together.

Check your Local Calendar for Holiday Events

Looking out into our local community I discovered that there are all sorts of opportunities for us to slow down and spend time together as a family exploring Christmas Adventures. Really everywhere, when I drove by the bank the other day I saw that Santa was coming with cookies and hot chocolate.

Take a look at your Local Calendar of Events and see what’s available.  Your local Mall, Parks, Amusement Parks or Hotels can be a fun option to visit for their decorations and festivities.

We’re excited about our planned trip to Sea World’s Christmas Celebration to visit “Polar Express” at the Arctic Exhibit and discovered that something special was also happening just around the corner.

Rosen Hotels and Resorts Holiday Events

We’re excited to find out that Rosen Hotels and Resorts in Orlando has a Calendar Full of Holiday Events available for us to enjoy for making memories as a family together. First of all the holiday decorations are beautiful and will make for some adorable holiday photo opportunities with the family.

Confession I have yet to take a holiday card photo so we’ll be planning to do that on our visit. Plus they have several Holiday Events planned like ice skating, cookie decorating, and letter to santa, christmas card, special holiday performances and the chance to have breakfast, lunch or dinner with Santa.  It sounds like just the thing our family needs to get us in the holiday spirit and spend those special memories together for the Holiday Season.

We’ve selected to attend the 2ND ANNUAL WINTER WONDERLAND FESTIVAL Fridays & Saturdays, December 13, 14, 20 & 21, 6:30 – 9:30pm

The hotel grounds will be transformed into a winter wonderland complete with gently falling snow, holiday carolers, the Shingle Creek Express train, a beautifully decorated 25-foot Christmas tree, storytelling with Mrs. Claus, holiday movies, karaoke and appearances from winter characters such as e Sugar Plum Fairy, Santa and the first ever “Live Remote Controlled Toys.” Take a picture with the Rosen Reindeer, sent straight from the North Pole. Reindeer do exist at Rosen Shingle Creek.

It’s followed by a family dinner buffet at Café Osceola. {Link to images from the events}

Make a Holiday Keepsake Book

As you know we like to put a little educational spin on our day, I’ll be sure to create a family book of our adventures together this holiday season which you can do at home too!  Baking cookies, gingerbread houses, decorating the tree, wrapping presents, making Christmas cards, looking at Christmas lights together…. all these little things we do take pictures, you know the ones we share on Facebook, and make a little book out of them for your children to remember all those special moments  you spent together.

Follow our Adventure on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter I’ll be using the hashtag #rosenholidays13 to share our adventures with you too!
