near the Orlando Convention Center!
This week in Orlando just happens to be one of the largest conference that focuses on early childhood education. I’m was so excited to discover that it will be hosted in Florida this year. Once I started to look at the #naeycAC hashtag on twitter I noticed that quite a few of the bloggers and companies I’ve admired online will be there and thought it might be a great opportunity to get together and talk shop.
Will you be at NAEYC?
Join me Wednesday night and connect with local bloggers in Orlando and bloggers who have traveled quite a distance to get to NAEYC. A Four Course Dinner will be provided for those that RSVP Now {Now Closed} {Limit seating available} provided by our awesome sponsors.
Blogger Networking Events
I’ve had so much fun traveling around the United States and connecting with bloggers while I’m at conferences speaking. Truth be told the place I’ve learned the most is the dinner table. Sitting beside bloggers that share the inside scoop to what works for them plus brainstorming ideas for future adventures. It’s also the place where I’ve connected with many of the brands you see featured at The Educators’ Spin On It. If you’re in Orlando this Wednesday night I hope you’ll come join the fun!
Here are the most recent cities I’ve visited to speak at or vacationed to, making to sure connect with bloggers while I’m traveling. I like to think of these events as a LIVE #PinChat or a LIVE #TeacherFriends chat.

Meet our Orlando Event Hosts
I’m excited to introduce you to the Blogger Networking Event sponsors. They are companies that I’ve known for years and used in my classroom when I was teaching. Now I use in my home with my kids as a parent too. Be sure to stop by Conscious Discipline and Frog Street Press booths and sessions to share your excitement about seeing them #naeycAC.
Conscious Discipline
Creator Dr. Becky Bailey happens to be the professor who founded my early childhood program 20 years ago at the University of Central Florida. She founded the company Conscious Discipline and has trained teachers literally all around the world using her Conscious Discipline principles along with her team. She’s written over 14 books for parents and teachers and is a true gem to understand childhood developmental psychology.
Conscious Discipline provides a proven and comprehensive approach that will improve both your life and the lives of your children. It empowers you with the self-awareness, brain information, developmental knowledge and useable skills necessary to create safe, connected, problem-solving homes.
The book Easy to Love, Difficult to Discipline is the core Conscious Discipline publication for parents. It is unique from other forms of guidance because it: Defines discipline not as something you do to children, but something you develop within them. Teaches new skills to the adult first and the children second, empowering you to become the mindful parent you want to be. With Conscious Discipline, we can learn to discipline differently than we were disciplined, break the cycle of “do as I say, not as I do,” and discipline our children without permissiveness, aggression or guilt.
I recently sat in on the LIVE taping of Conscious Discipline which I will be sharing about soon on our site… stay tuned! Until then check out their online resources and watch this video about How to Make a Bully (From Scratch).

Frog Street Press
I had the honor of being a Frog Street Blogger Ambassador this summer at SPLASH in Texas. It was amazing to see thousands of early childhood teachers in one place focused on how to support children. If you haven’t been to this event I highly recommend it. Take a peek at this video to see how much fun you have too while networking and learning!
Frog Street Press works with the best and brightest in the early childhood field to develop programs tailored to challenge each child to the edge of his or her competency. All of the curriculum and programs that Frog Street Press creates are aimed at one thing: igniting the minds of young children by fostering their academic, social and emotional growth through purposeful lessons and materials that intentionally produce a positive outcome. Their comprehensive, research-based programs integrate instruction across developmental domains and early learning disciplines.
With a program designed to be as engaging for teachers and caregivers as it is for children, Frog Street Press’s focus is on fostering the continual professional development of those implementing Frog Street resources in the classroom. They offer training both onsite and at our annual Splash conference to help each educator hone their skills at providing differentiated instruction and a joyful approach to learning.
I’m loving the Frog Street blog articles that Amanda has been sharing on their site too! Parents and Teachers go take a peek at their online store, it rocks!

About NAEYC
The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) is a professional membership organization that works to promote high-quality early learning for all young children, birth through age 8, by connecting early childhood practice, policy, and research. They advance a diverse, dynamic early childhood profession and support all who care for, educate, and work on behalf of young children.
The association comprises nearly 70,000 individual members of the early childhood community and more than 300 regional Affiliate chapters, all committed to delivering on the promise of high-quality early learning. Together, they work to achieve a collective vision: that all young children thrive and learn in a society dedicated to ensuring they reach their full potential.
This event is not affiliated or sponsored by NAEYC, I simply wanted to share with you an amazing community focused on early childhood development and education!
