Do your friends and family know which charity you support? Do your kids?
One of my favorite things about having this blog, The Educators’ Spin On It, is to have the ability to share about campaigns that we want to support. Somehow having a way to share on here feels a little empowering that we’re able to give a voice to advocate programs that need support.
Finding Ways to Give Back in the Holiday Season
This past month was #GivingTuesday. My heart was filled to great joy to watch and see so many individuals in my friend circle and also in the blogging community use their online platforms to share about and support charities throughout the world. I was able to see a whole other side to them and discover so many great causes to become a party of. Did you join in and support a charity close to your heart? Which one?
My children and I picked two that we wanted to support. We contributed to Pennies of Time which provides ideas and resources to support families in how to serve with their kids. They are working on getting funds that will help them launch the Family Kindness Starter Kit and App, two more resources for families to use to Raise Kind Kids. All donations fund customized programs designed and proven to foster family involvement in community service, teaching kids to be kind.
We also contributed to NoKidHungry.org The No Kid Hungry campaign connects kids in need with nutritious food and teaches their families how to cook healthy, affordable meals. The campaign also engages the public to make ending child hunger a national priority. Are you planning to Bake this weekend? Share pics using #BakeItForward and The Food Network will donate $1 to No Kid Hungry!
