Teacher Appreciation Thank You Letter

My family is fortunate to live near a school that values my children’s individual strengths and challenges them to be thinkers.  It is full of amazingly talented teachers. We would like to take the opportunity for Teacher Appreciation Week to say, “THANK YOU!”

Thank You Letters for Teacher Appreciation Week

Dear Third Grade Team,

Thank you for providing my daughter with the opportunity to learn and grow this year.

Education is very important to our family and I appreciate that she is expanding her vocabulary, working in teams to learn about entrepreneurship, and putting on math plays. She comes home every day and is excited to tell me about the new academic concepts you have presented. It has been truely amazing to see the breadth and depth of academics that you have covered over the course of the year.

Thank you Mr. L for sending a weekly e-mail home each week.

I appreciate that you share a brief summary of what you are doing in class, the concepts that students are finding challenging, and what to look for next week. These e-mails may just be a sneak peek into your week, but they are e-mails that I look forward to.  As my daughter gets older, I still want to be informed of what happens during her school day.  You have included me in and made me feel like an informed parent.

Thank you Mrs. B for playing kickball WITH the kids during recess.

My daughter looks forward to recess every day.  She tells me of how much fun recess is and how the kids play kickball together most days.  It wasn’t until this week that I found out WHY – it’s YOU! She told me that you don’t have many kids sitting in time out because you know that kids need to move and that is part of learning.  While other parents are complaining on social media that their kids don’t get recess, or that the teachers are huddled in the corner talking with other teachers, you are out on the field playing kickball with the kids.  In just a few minutes each day, you are providing my daughter with a positive role model.

Thank you Mrs. M for attempting to mix traditional seat work and paper pencil work with collaborative group projects.

My daughter has an opportunity to learn how to work well with others and share ideas. This has been a challenge for my goal-oriented, type A, out-of-the-box thinker and we have enjoyed hearing the stories of how she has to listen to and considers other children’s viewpoints. We feel that the variety of lessons really meets her social and academic needs.

In all, I am very thankful for the third-grade team of teachers for making the most of each and every day to help my daughter learn and grow.  We appreciate you!
