When learning how to write, young children need exposure to a variety of writing materials and things to write on. Knowing the letter names is also an important part of early literacy. This activity combines the two!
Whiteboards are one of my favorite early writing practice activities as they are of different textures and BIG!
Try this write and wipe letter learning activity in your home or classroom this week!

- Explain that you will be writing the letters on the board the next time you sing them.
- Sing the song S-L-O-W-L-Y and write the letters (use all capital letters or all lower case) on the board from left to right. When you get to the end of the board on one line, continue writing letters underneath.

More about WaterWipes
Wipes are essential in our house. I’m an eco momma and try to use cloth napkins and homemade wipes, but boy are wipes really great to have handy around the house.
I love that WaterWipes are
- a premium European brand
- a chemical free baby wipe
- contains only two ingredients, 99.9% purified Irish water &0.1% grapefruit seed extract
- Both durable and effective
- recognized by the National Eczema Association as being the only baby wipe with absolutely no chemicals, receiving a 4 out of 5 Seal of Acceptance Rating.
Take Note: WaterWipes are chemical free – this means they don’t contain preservatives. The package will keep for up to 15 months before it is opened.
Once you open your WaterWipes package, we recommend that you use the pack within 1 month. Unlike many other wipe brands, WaterWipes are not interfolded. This allows for the sterile environment within the package to be maintained.
For the same reason, we recommend that you do not relocate the wipes in an alternate container.
5 More Ways We Use WaterWipes
1. To clean up craft spills.
This week we spilled paint on our cork board. We grabbed the wipes and immediately started to wipe off the paint. Thankfully, we were able to get the paint of the cork board. Although they don’t clean crayons off walls, they did a good job wiping up paint spills!
2. To let the kids help clean finger prints of the walls and light switches.
We hand each kid a wipe and set the timer. Their task is to wipe off as many fingerprints as they can in 5 minutes. I LOVE having all three kids work together to clean the house!
3. To keep my work desk area clean.
I admit I’m a messy writer, but do better work when my desk is clean. At least once a week, I tidy my papers and wipe off my keyboard for a fresh, clean start.
4. For on-the-go messes.
We keep a pack of wipes in the car. They have come in handy so many times. Someone spills a snack, we get dirt on our hands at the park, or have to wash the germs off our hands when there isn’t soap and water available.
5. Give as baby shower gifts.
I am so excited to welcome my first niece to the world in a few months. Welcoming a new member to the family is such an exciting event and new parents take care to ensure their child’s health and safety. Choose baby products that are chemical free and without harmful ingredients.
A pack of diapers and chemical free wipes always makes a great baby shower gift for new parents.
I’m a WaterWipes Mom, so you will be seeing even more ways that we use WaterWipes in the next few months! I try to be a chemically-conscious shopper and am always on the lookout for the best products for my family.
Let me know if you have any questions about them, I would happy to provide an honest and hopefully helpful answer!

I love your white board – where did you find it? It would be perfect to add to the girls' playroom. We are big WaterWipes fans too – never thought to try them for dry erase purposes – regular wipes always leave a residue, but I bet these would be perfect!
