The first holidays go by SO FAST, even when it is your third baby!
This year, I am looking back at the pictures from my baby’s first Easter with tears in my eyes. He was so little and is now so big.
I’m not a photographer by any means, rather shoot 100 pictures and delete 99 kinda mom.
Here are my top 5 MUST-TRY shots of all time. And hey, if they don’t turn out – DELETE them. That’s what I do! If you are lucky, then there will be one to print out for Grandma or Grandpa!

The TOP FIVE Must-Try Photo Shots for Baby’s First Easter
1. The classic dress-up outfit.
2. In or next to the Easter basket (sorry no picture, he was not having it and I was not working it – DELETE, but it may work for you. Kim is AMAZING at taking pics of her babies and baskets, check out this super cute one, scroll all the way down to the bottom of the post!)
3. A themed item in front of or behind the baby to get the “feeling” of the holiday. We tried a giant egg. I didn’t that one was too bad!
4. With a plastic egg. This picture actually evoked the most memories. I remember him trying to scoot to reach it, the determination in his eyes, and the look he gave me like, “Come on Mom, you want me to play with this plastic thing?”
5. And by all means WITH MOM! (or DAD whoever is usually the one taking the pictures) My little guy will never be this little ever again. I am so thankful that my husband took our picture together so that we can look back and remember the fun Easter Egg hunt, pinata, and picnic with friends.
Sorry, folks, you can’t delete these. Well, at least not all of them!
I am often asked, “What camera do you use?” I can’t say enough about my Canon EOS Rebel T5 it is easy for point and shooters (which is me most of the time), can change the lenses use in manual mode, and has an amazing clarity that looks great in 11 x 13’s on the wall. Best is that it is under $500.
My cousin loaned me his Canon EOS Rebel T5i to try for a weekend and although there are some amazing features in the camera, I was totally ok handing it back to him and going back to my trusty EOS. I’m a MOM – not a professional photographer. I need a camera that will snap a good shot of my kids as they move, in poor lighting, and be good enough to print and hang on the wall.
