Birthdays are a fun time of the year for celebrating. I am asked often what presents I’d recommend giving children for their birthdays. To kick off this birthday bash, I’d like to share with you… more about me and my birthdays!!!

Your BIRTH day is a special occasion to celebrate. It is the day the world welcomed you. I am thankful every day to have such loving parents who made parenting their #1, most important job.  They spent time doing puzzles, reading stories and playing outside with my brother and I. Our birthdays were never extravagant events, but ones filled with lots of love and laughter.

Kim’s Spin On Birthdays

Birthdays in our family have always been a fun day filled with attention on you. My mom is the best at giving gifts and knowing just exactly what you want and need. Kudos to her for keeping that up for now over 40 years.

When I was younger we lived near all of our family in Colorado but moved early in elementary school to Arizona and then Florida, so birthdays transitioned into a special day with the 4 of us and a party with friends on the weekend.

My mom would always have the Happy Birthday Banner up when we woke up in the morning with all of our presents wrapped and sitting out for us to guess all day long. It was a treat to see the mail that was sent from my grandparents too, trying to figure out the packages.

Kim and her favorite little red wagon

One of my most favorite memories of childhood was my little red wagon {Yeap that’s me in my childhood fashion and hairstyle glory!} I remember taking that thing everywhere, especially with my little sister.

It would transform into a multitude of things as I imagined during playtime with my sister, cousins, and neighborhood friends. Airplane, Train, Car, Ice cream shop, you name it and it would become it.

The key to great gift is finding those multi-purpose uses to last a long time.

For this birthday gift series, we will bring to you gifts that are

  • Teacher selected
  • Parent tested
  • Kid approved!
