Things to teach young children about St. Patrick’s Day:

• St. Patrick’s Day is a holiday celebrated on March 17th. It is a day to celebrate the life of Saint Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland.
• St. Patrick was a real person who lived in the 5th century. He was a Christian missionary who helped to spread Christianity in Ireland.
• St. Patrick is often associated with the color green. This is because green is the color of the shamrock, a plant that is native to Ireland.
• Shamrocks are said to be lucky. According to legend, St. Patrick used shamrocks to explain the Holy Trinity to the Irish people.
• St. Patrick’s Day is a fun holiday. People celebrate by wearing green, eating Irish food, and participating in parades and festivals.
