We have been in an “owl” mood lately. It doesn’t help that our neighborhood owl has been rather loud in the evenings and reminding us of his presence. That means we have been making a lot of owl crafts and learning activities!

Owl Crafts and Learning Activities
Owl Crafts and Learning Activities: Owl Headband
My daughter helped me design, cut, and sew this owl headband after she saw the one I made for her little brother. (more info here if you want to make one too) She has made many other small projects too that I really should take pictures of as they are all designed and made by her. We usually spend 2 or 3 afternoons sewing each week!

Owl Crafts and Learning Activities: Owl Pizza
Turn dinner time into owl time with this fun kid-made owl pizza. Cooking is a great way to bring math topics such as counting, measurement and temperature to every day learning.

Owl Crafts and Learning Activities: Hand Print Card
Make this owl hand print card for a special person in your life. Let your child write a message inside and mail (or hand deliver) the card.

I love the crayon rubbings! The leaf weaving looks like fun, too. Thanks for hosting the afterschooling linky this week!
I love the way you made the rubbing plates. I'm going to try this. I would order more from that company too if the shipping wasn't so much.
This is a very neat way to make your own crayon rubbings templates! Thanks for hosting this week!
What a great idea!
Thanks Sixty Second Parent for joining us. I can't comment on your website =( But I love your extension on the leaf rubbings and having the kids glue them on cards! Thanks for joining in our Blog Hop
I love your crayon rubbing plate idea. How fun! I'll have to remember that for some future project.
Thanks for your encouraging comment on my blog – I appreciate it. 🙂
The rubbings are so fun looking. It maybe would work with some hot glue as well, then there would be no wait.
Brooke, I have to heat up the hot glue gun today and may try it out as the kiddos have requested a second set and I have an empty cracker box available. I am wondering if I can keep the height consistent like I can with the school glue.
Love the owl rubbing! I'm joining the blog hop from Mama Smiles blog 🙂
What a cute headband! The rubbings look wonderful too.
Thanks so much for sharing your headbands idea on the Mama Pea Pod facebook page! I wonder if you would mind adding it to the blog page comments too? I'd love to gather costume ideas in one place. Thanks so much!
