We’re having so much fun in BUG WEEK as part of our Virtual Book Club Summer Camp!
Today is Eric Carle’s Birthday so in honor of him and one very hungry caterpillar it’s time for some Caterpillar fun!
We created a fun and simple math game using lids!
It’s works perfect for siblings too. You can adjust the level of difficulty with the little ones you can work on one to one correspondence and number recognition and your older ones you can work on their math facts!
Caterpillar Math Game
- Gather your lids
- Create a caterpillar mat
- Print out these caterpillar number cards {PRINT HERE}
- Play!
Toddler Approved has some Fizzy Caterpillars that we will be creating today that she’s sharing on the Virtual Book Club Summer Camp Planner. Click on the image to get the directions how to create them. She’s also included a list of books for older kids participating in the VBC Summer Camp.

Great activity!! I love when I can do an activity with both my toddler and my preschooler. I love these colorful lids too.
Thanks Kristina! There are so many ways to use those lids, I LOVE IT! However I must say they had far more fun with your fizzing caterpillars this afternoon!
It's always fun when you can create something using recycling. I remember buying an entire book of games for school when I was teaching using recycling. Most of it was variations on using lids.
Thanks for sharing this fun (and cute!) printable on Tuesday Tots. I’ve featured it this week. 🙂
