Easter Learning Activities for Preschool

Discover fun and educational Easter learning activities for preschool! Engage your little ones with hands-on crafts, literacy games, and math activities that celebrate the season while building essential early learning skills.

Easter Learning Activities for Preschoolers

This week, my 4 year old and I are not just crafting for Easter, we are also learning with a bunny, carrot, and egg theme!  Hey, the kids are excited about the upcoming holiday – I’m using the excitement to teach academics. Thematic learning makes math, science, and reading even more fun!

Preschool Easter Activities

Easter activities can be great learning experiences for preschoolers! Here’s how:

  • Fine Motor Skills – Decorating eggs, cutting, and threading help with hand strength for writing.
  • Early Math – Counting, sorting, and making patterns with eggs introduce basic math concepts.
  • Language & Literacy – Storytelling, letter hunts, and Easter-themed words build vocabulary.
  • Sensory Play – Exploring textures with playdough, dyed rice, or egg hunts engages the senses.
  • Simple Science – Watching plants grow or dissolving eggshells teaches basic science.
  • Social Skills – Group activities encourage sharing, patience, and teamwork.

Fun and educational—perfect for preschool Easter learning! Here are our favorites from the many that we have been doing!

Music Ideas for Easter

Rhythm Game for Easter by Let’s Play Music
When in doubt, throw a couple cute books, some stickers, a puppet and a stuffed bunny in a basket. Set the basket on your kitchen table as an invitation to learn. It doesn’t have to be fancy or expensive to make a huge impact! This basket kept my 4 year old busy for almost an hour. He decided to use the stickers to count with and made his own craft egg, read the stories to the bunny, then acted out one of them with the puppet (on his own!)

I was loving the extra minutes of learning time so that I could get dinner made!

Easter is a wonderful time to blend fun and learning for your preschooler! These hands-on activities help develop important skills while creating special memories together. Whether you’re practicing early math, building literacy skills, or exploring science, these playful learning opportunities make the holiday even more meaningful.

Try a few of these ideas and enjoy a season filled with creativity, discovery, and joy. Happy Easter!
