Join our Summer Book Exchange

Kids love getting mail and we love doing amazing things with and for our kids!  As Summer approaches we want to encourage our children to read and love books throughout the summer.  Here’s a great way to have a Book & Activities arrive at your doorstep!  We will be hosting a Summer “LOVE BOOKS” Exchange for blogging parents in which we trade names and gift other blogging families with a book and themed projects to go with it.

Here’s our package from Last Summer

We are excited that this will be our THIRD Book Exchange.  Last Summer 20 Participants joined together and swapped books & activities!  The previous Spring we had our first Love Books Exchange, it was so much fun we can’t wait to do it again!  We enjoyed getting to know other blogging families with our Summer Participants and  Spring Participants and can’t wait to meet yours too.

If you are interested in participating:
1.    You must have a blog and at least 1 child between the ages of 0 and 10.  Participants must agree to purchase 1 book and create a themed package for another blogger’s children to make and do.  Open ended – creative projects are the best!
2.    Stay under a $20 limit for all – this is not meant to break the bank.  Used books in great condition would be awesome!
3.    Must SHIP your packages in June – NO LATER THAN JUNE 21th. (First Day of Summer)
4.    READ and DO the project with your children when your package arrives.
5.    Blog about the package you receive – make sure to include a link back to the givers blog and include a LOVE BOOKS button on your post. Must be POSTED by JULY 15th
6.    Link your post to our LOVE BOOKS page!  We will be including your URL’s on multiple posts and social media sources too =)  Free blog publicity!
7.  All Books Exchanges will be shared on The Educators’ Spin On It 2013 Summer Love Books Exchange Page with an image and a link to your website.
Do you want to see a sample?  Here is what was exchanged this past Summer in our First SUMMER LOVE BOOKS Exchange!  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask!

Would you like to participate?
Please e-mail us  by Friday, MAY 24st at 10:00 PM. We will reply back by Friday, May 31st the Blogger you are assigned to.
Put SUMMER LOVE BOOKS EXCHANGE Participant in the subject line
In your e-mail include.
  • Your first name & brief bio (1-3 sentences)
  • Your kids ages
  • A 250 x 250 photo of you & 250 x 250 blog button for our introduction page
  • Your blog name and URL
  • Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter and/or Google+ URLs
  • A link to your favorite a book related or kids activity post on your blog
  • Your name address where the book and activities will be shipped.  (I will see this address and the blogger who will send you will receive this address only)
  • And a statement to explain your commitment to the project as we are all parents who want the best for our kids.  It is no fun making a package for another person if the kindness isn’t reciprocated!

BONUS! We have a private facebook group set up to discuss our Love Books Exchanges and any questions that may come up.  Plus it’s a great way to promote each other’s book exchanges during the summer!  {Include your link to your personal facebook profile to join this group}

If are parent and you’re not a blogger, think about swapping with your children’s friends!  We’ll be sharing tips for hosting a Successful Book & Activity Swap this summer too!  Let’s work together to foster of love of reading with our children!
